Social media and Human Rights
I just came back from Graz in Austria from a meeting on Social Media and Human Rights (Pestalozzi Program). A group of us - one per Eu country - will be working on Train the Trainer materials on social media and human rights that will be distributed through all EU countries and in different school levels all the way up to Higher Education.

It's interesting how, intuitively, we know that both things - social media and human rights (HR) - tie together but it was not easy at all to work that relationship through without falling in the trap of "HR article #1 - blogs > to foster freedom of speech" (oversimplying of course) and end up with a dry list of articles and practices....
I started a document (intentionally short) with resources - Howard Rheingold's "Smart Mobs" are part of it. I'm curious about this group's ideas on this topic. I welcome your contribution to his document, which I would post back to on the Pestalozzi platforum ( the intranet we are suig for the program), by November 15. Your ideas would be properly credited of course though it is just a working doc... a doc for the Pestalozzi group's reflection - feel free to add on, comment, etc!
Note: Participants all the way from Finland to Greece - are educators, scholars, and practitioners and one per EU country. I would like this to serve as a quick reference - simple and short. I expand on GPS as a topic because that is where my focus will be. Any thoughts are welcome!
I am including the document on a different post so that this one is not too long. Thank you!
