What a Fabulous Stack o' Scholars!

The most exciting part of every Fall, in a tradition that goes back to the mists of time (three years, actually), is watching the new HASTAC Scholars who have been chosen from among all the other possible candidates and nominated by their institutions.  This year it is a bit overwhelming in its wonder.   It seems as if there will be as many as 170 students from over seventy different institutions in the U.S., Canada, and internationally.   That is just incredible.   The networking possibilities for the future are endless.   And just watching as everyone weighs in with a public blog is breathtaking.  The range of interests, fields, disciplines, passions, talents, interests, and commitments is unbelievable. 

I'm not going to waste anyone's time writing more about them.  Noodle around on the www.hastac.org site.  Read the new posts.   To go back to the motto of our very first HASTAC international conference, in 2007:  "The future is here!"   I like this particular manifestation of it a lot.
