FLEFF OPEN SPACE LAB
Artist Nicholas Knouf and I are teaching a 7 week lab course for the Finger Lakes Film Festival this year on the theme of Open Space. The lab is designed as a combination of theoretical and practice based examinations of the topic. The students are designing fantastic projects which will be up on the FLEFF blog soon. As part of the course, three artists are invited to publically present on their work via skype. The invited artists are:Marcos Garcia, who runs Medialab-Prado in Madrid, Julian Oliver, New Zealand born artist, inventor and teacher based in Berlin, Germany, Meena Natarajan (project leader of my Piece of Chennai, a volunteer based group of designers, artists, entrepeneurs, and community members residing in Chennai, India and the United States; the group deals with the relationship between urbanism, and participatory design). They will also be the juror team for the course's projects.
