"Your mom hates this game"
The promotional campaign for the new cross-platform game "Dead Space 2" is organized around shots of middle-aged women reacting with horror to the game's content:

By alluding to the Youtube "reaction videos" that depict the shock of people exposed to much more disturbing content (2girls1cup being the archetype), Electronic Arts hints that the game has some of the outlaw allure of "shock sites." Which, of course, it doesn't. Probably. I haven't played it.
I don't have anything more to say about this now, other than to note that I don't like the ad campaign, and I don't like its use of women, of middle-aged people, or of the concept "mom." Or of the concept "hate," for that matter.
