About Derek Attig

derekattig's picture

Derek Attig is a Ph.D. candidate in History at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His dissertation project examines the roles bookmobiles played--as carriers of an ostensibly collective culture which moved through public space--in imagining, forming, and contesting communities in the twentieth-century United States. Using this research as springboard, Derek is interested in situating the digital humanities within a larger (and longer) story of attempts to broaden access to public cultures. Visit http://bookmobility.tumblr.com/ for images, videos, links, and random thoughts about information on the move. You can also download Derek's CV at http://www.history.illinois.edu/people/dattig2 .
