Candide 2.0

I thought the HASTAC community would be interested in All Possible Worlds, the digital extension of the New York Public Library’s current “Candide at 250: Scandal and Success” exhibition. The highlight is Candide 2.0, a “networked edition” of the text annotated by professors, novelists, playwrights, and translators. The curator, Alice Boone, describes the exhibit as a garden, but the format suggests nothing so much as a blog, with Voltaire as the front-page poster and his annotators as devoted commenters.

They've gotten through about a third of the book so far; the exhibit ends April 25.
