Upcoming on my blog
As the blogosphere slowly returns to a buzz after long holiday breaks, I've resolved to update this blog more often. Call it a New Year's resolution if you wish, but that would only be due to convenient timing. Posting here every two weeks or so has been great, but I have many more ideas scrawled out in notes and e-mails sent to myself and am going to hammer them out this month in order to increase the frequency of entries. Here's a preview of a few things you'll see here in January:
--A post reflecting on notable people we lost in 2007 (it's almost done, just needs a few edits)
--I'll be liveblogging the 2nd annual North Carolina Science Blogging Conference from Research Triangle Park on January 18th and 19th. I'm attending with Duke genetics grad student extraordinaire Jason.
A bit about the conference from their homepage: "This is a conference to explore new ways in communicating scientific exploration. Our conference addresses a variety of issues and perspectives on science communication, including science literacy, the popularization of science, science in classrooms and in homes, debunking pseudoscience, using blogs as tools for presenting scientific research, writing about science, and health and medicine." I'm looking forward to it!
--Some reblogs on great failures in blogging, from money-making schemes to unintended drama.
Overall, you can also expect more photos, and maybe even some multimedia to keep your eyes from glazing over at all these words. :)

I'm planning to attend the Scienceblogging conference here as well - last year's was interesting. See you there!
