A new petition on We The People, the White House's platform for considering petitions from members of the public, seeks to develop a national digitization strategy. The proposal is aimed at determining what it would take to make available the holdings of the Smithsonian, Library of Congress, National Archives, Printing Office, and other national institutions on the Internet. John Podesta, of the Center for American Progress, and Carl Malamud, of Public.Resource.org are the authors of the petition. More information on the petition is on the web site: Yes We Scan.
