Jeremy Sarachan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication/Journalism at St. John Fisher College and the director of the program in Digital Cultures and Technologies. He studies how diverse groups redefine themselves using social media and how social media and gaming influence parenting practices. His article on the use of technology in communication departments was printed in the July 2011 issue of Journalism & Mass Communication Educator and he has published book chapters on Doctor Who fan videos, Facebook profile pictures, and learning management systems and open-source philosophies.
