Lovely to meet you all...

Hello everyone!  Id like to thank fellow HASTAC scholar, Sean McCarthy for the nomination and Fiona Bartlett for getting us all together in the first place!

I'm just beginning the 4^th year of my PhD at the University of Texas at Austin.  My concentration areas are rhetoric and digital literacies and literatures.  What that really means is that I'm studying how digital media can and should be used in the writing classroom, and my dissertation focuses on student responses to digital media assignments in rhetoric and literature courses. 

I am also currently an Assistant Director (along with the afore-mentioned McCarthy!) of UT's Digital Writing and Research Lab (DWRL).  I've been working in the DWRL for the past 3 years, and its marriage of writing pedagogy and digital media has been the inspiration for my personal research interests.  The DWRL has all sorts of exciting projects going on this year that I'll begin blogging about shortly.
