The Celestial Economic Sphere, Dataviz for the Financial Biz, Truthiness, and Behavioral Finance

The Stock Market Planetarium, or Celestial Economic Sphere, is a real-time display of financial data from publicly traded companies.  It consists of star-like creatures who "live in a world composed entirely of money and they feed on trading activity.."  Although the sphere was created as a parody of a stock-market slip-up in the UK in 1999, during the Dot Com bubble, it caught my eye as I decided to revise a late-night blog post regarding the current state of affairs in the US economy.

If you have a few minutes, take a look at my recent blog post,   "The Celestial Economic Sphere, DataViz for the Finance Biz, Truthiness, and Behavioral Finance."   If you scroll down the post, you'll find a video of a discussion between a panel of economic experts from the September 11th broadcast of the Charlie Rose show.
