This post is just a brief note to alert any interested parties to the possibility of handy live streams from the transmediale festival in Berlin.  I haven't entirely wrapped my head around the festival yet, and frankly, I suspect it doesn't deserve a ringing endorsement.  It is a strange, sometimes seemingly cobbled together series of events, lectures, and art projects related to digital culture with an emphasis on music and sound.  Its theme this year is "True North," which seems to want to address ecological extremities of global space in connection to the question of digital media.  This reminds me of a not-too-shabby video piece, "Break" that I saw in the fall as part of the "European Month of Photography" made in 2004 by Christoph Brech of a Canadian ice cutter.  (Could it be that that there is actually something to the connection between nordic ecology and sound?)

It's going to take me a few days to sort out Transmediale's odd array of offerings, and as I would rather not commit my time to trekking across Berlin in order to attend dubious events, I'm thankful to have the live streams available, as listed below:

The language of the streams is predominantly English. All times are GMT+1.
