Strategic Planning is the process of assessing what the institution wants to do in order to advance its mission and goals over a specific period of time. This involves evaluating existing and anticipated conditions and creating a vision of the future that is most beneficial for the institution. Subsequently a set of actions, responsibilities and resources are agreed upon to move the university in that direction while monitoring, assessing, and adjusting the action plan as needed in order to make the vision a reality by a given time.

Cal State L.A. is engaged in a comprehensive and coordinated strategic planning process that will involve many members of our faculty, staff, students, alumni, community representatives and friends of the institution. The goal of this broad process is to design a shared vision of Cal State L.A.’s future and to implement that vision through the development of key strategic directions tied to specific action plans.

This web site will serve as common point of reference about our progress towards these ends, as well as a place where members of our community may share their thoughts, ask questions and participate in an ongoing institutional conversation about our shared future.
