Members & Profiles
Filling out your member profile is a great way to start exploring the HASTAC site. (To learn about HASTAC's privacy policies regarding how the personal information you enter will be used, please refer to Section 5 of the HASTAC Terms and Conditions, entitled "Use of Personal Information and Privacy.")
To edit your profile, log in to hastac.org and click 'My Profile' in the upper right corner navigation bar. Then select 'Edit My Account' from the navigation bar that appears below your username.

Once you have selected 'Edit My Account,' four tabs will appear: Account, My Organizations, Newsletter Subscription, and Personal Information.

Account
Clicking on the 'Account' tab will allow you to edit the following sections. If you make any changes, be sure to click 'Save' at the bottom of the page before navigating to another page.
Username
Set your preferred Username.
Email address
Enter a valid email address. All emails from the system will be sent to this address. The email address is not made public and will only be used if you wish to receive a new password or certain news/notifications by email.
Password
To change your password, enter the new password in both fields and click 'Save' at the bottom of the page.
Picture
Upload an image that will appear on your account profile. The image will also appear on any piece of content you post without its own signature image. The image should be at least 150 pixels wide. It will be cropped to a square and resized automatically.
Relationship email settings
If you wish to receive an email notification when another user adds you as a friend, check the box labeled 'Receive relationship email notifications.' If you choose not to receive relationship email notifications, you will be notified that someone has added you as a friend when you next log in to the site.
Contact settings
Check the box if you wish to allow other users to contact you by email via the personal contact form. Note that your email address will still not be made public to other users EXCEPT site administrators, who will be able to contact you even if you choose not to enable this feature.
