Are you a self-starter?
Have you been involved in addressing global issues?
Do you have experience leading teams and managing projects?
Do you believe in the power of young people to change the world?
If you answered these questions positively, this job opportunity may just be for you!
TakingITGlobal is looking for an Associate Director for its New York City office. We are looking for an innovative person with a deep commitment to helping young people unleash their potential to change the world. The main responsibilities include:
Management / Leadership
We need someone to recruit and oversee an amazing group of interns, motivate them to achieve success. The right person will be able to attract top talent and be a source of inspiration to our interns, consultants and membership-at-large. The role will involve both developing a New York based team as well as liaising with our Toronto office and international team of online volunteers, mentors and advisors.

We need someone who can help articulate our vision and pitch our programs in a way that captivates the interest of potential supporters. We are looking for someone with strong proposal and report writing skills with a natural ability to network and cultivate key relationships. The selected candidate is expected to play a key role in raising funds for TakingITGlobal’s work internationally, with an emphasis on outreach in the United States.
Programmatic Momentum
Our New York office focuses on our efforts to reach organized youth (youth organizations, coalitions focused on specific issues, activists, collectives, etc) and connect them to a global movement with strong roots in the United Nations system. The ideal candidate has a passion for tackling global issues combined with an understanding of youth organizing and commitment to cultivate our existing network of youth organizations (this is called the Global Youth Action Network).

The right person will showcase previous work experience or the right instincts for balancing this type of work and continue to show results.
