The National Humanities Alliance will host a conference call for its members on Wednesday, July 29 (3:00-3:45 PM EST) to discuss the Obama Administration's initiative on service.  Joining us on the call will be Philip Martin, Education Outreach Coordinator for the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), an independent federal agency that promotes volunteering and service.  Philip will report on "United We Serve" (www.serve.gov), a new national effort to engage more Americans in serving their communities this summer and beyond.

This call provides a useful and important opportunity for the humanities community to engage in a dialogue on one of the new Administration's top priorities.  If you have not yet RSVP'd, please do so (via Survey Monkey) at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=W3qWJgxO_2bI5pv_2foP7YdCAg_3d_3d.  Please reply by Monday, July 27.  All NHA members and their staff are invited to join the call.  Call-in information and a final agenda will be sent via email to those who have registered their attendance.
