I am a proud product of the California public education system, with a BA from UC San Diego, an MA from Cal State University San Marcos, and am currently a PhD candidate in English at UC Santa Barbara. My research interests include include temporariness (labor, capital, space) in transnational literature and media. I am also interested in pop culture, graphic narratives, and science fiction. I'm an affiliate of UCSB's American Cultures and Global Contexts Center, the Transcriptions Center, and am currently a project coordinator with the UC Transliteracies Project. In addition, I'm an active member, organizer, and researcher of the CouchSurfing Project (www.couchsurfing.org).
