I'm Bryce, a PhD student in Anthropology studying cultural semiotics and linguistic anthropology. My dissertation research combines a rigorous philosophical analysis of the effect of industrial-capitalist technology on existential states of being and becoming, with the ethnographic analysis of speech politics and cultural anxiety in Gibraltar. I specialize in cultural semiotics, ethnography of communications, mediology, phenomenology, and modernist urban theories. My most recent work argues for a conceptualization of Walter Benjamin as a post humanist anthropological philosopher, applying his work to critique the constellations and inter texts of urban media ecologies in Gibraltar.
