I am a first-year doctoral student at University of Washington, in the Department of Geography. For my master's work in GIScience, I utilized geographies of emotion and experience to visualize people, places, and utterances in attribute spaces. This meant using the self-organizing map (SOM) as a visualization technique and analysis framework. My B.A. is also in Geography, from Eastern Kentucky University.
I am the webmaster for the Socialist & Critical Geography Specialty Group of the Association for American Geographers. Also, while at UW, I hope to get involved in the Forum on Science, Ethics, and Policy, per my broader academic interests.
