I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Film and Media Studies at UCSB. My research focuses on how human cognition interfaces with contemporary media forms, with a particular emphasis on video games and other interactive media. Before coming to UCSB, I received an MFA in Film Studies from Boston University and a BA in Linguistics from the University of Oregon, and I was a teaching assistant in the Department of Visual and Environmental Studies at Harvard University.
