Jessica is a fourth year PhD Candidate in the Graduate Division of Religion at Emory University. Her interests center around contemporary theology, media and film studies, and religion and literature. She is also the co-managing editor of a transdisciplinary multimedia peer-review journal on practical theology and religious practices, www.practicalmattersjournal.org. Her interests in digital scholarship center primarily around academic publishing and journal development. How does the digitalization of knowledge production shift what is understood as academic scholarship? How can methods of research and teaching including digital storytelling, visual ethnography, podcasts, and online writing tools change what scholars understand to be valuable contributions to a field? How might academic humanities evaluate digital scholarship?
