I'm a PhD student at the University of Illinois in the Department of English's Center for Writing Studies.

I study rhetoric & sound, music & culture. I teach and use a variety of compositional modalities and am ever cognizant of the ways that mediums project, distort, obfuscate, venerate, and in other ways are "the message." My academic goals include finding and using new pathways to do historiographical work, looking and listening for connections between old ways of thinking and modern ways of doing, and working to reconcile deep, cultural systems of belief with what some, generation after generation, like to call "devil music" be it jazz, country, or the blues.
I'm from Tucson, AZ, have been married for ten years and have three amazing kids.
