I am a second-year Doctor of Arts student in the English Department at St. Johns University, Queens, NY, with a developing focus on digital humanities. My interests are in language, textuality, encyclopedic discourse, the poetics of digital space, the Creative Commons and the Oulipo writers. I teach First Year Writing and Global Literature. Some of the questions I think about are: what do we need to understand about the creation of knowledge in the digital age? Can we promote and sustain open source sharing economies in academic communities? How far can/should we take our pedagogy as writing teachers in a quest to complicate the traditional notion of the author?
