Brief Bio: PhD Candidate in the Department of Childhood Studies at Rutgers. My work is about the historical convergences of education and entertainment, particularly in the magazine Highlights for Children. Through this lens I study new literacies and new literatures (with particular interest in the use of social interaction in the creation and consumption of digital literary experiences), literacy instruction in the digital age, and children's experience with and production of digital texts.
