I am currently a fourth-year PhD student in the Educational Communication and Technology program at NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. My research interests range from learning within online social networks, mobile tools, games for learning.
Of these, my current focus is on the use of Twitter as a tool for learning and research. I am engaged in and fascinated by interactions between personal learning networks, random connections, and friends and colleagues - the sharing, the peer review processes, the research. I am looking at ways in which to approach how to examine the nature of these interactions.
I have completed an MA in Psychology from Pune University (India) and then worked in the e-Learning industry in India for approximately 4 years where my interest in learning and technology grew into my need to learn about it. This led me to get an MA in Education with a concentration in Learning, Design and Technology from Stanford University. This did not satisfy my need to continue in academics, hence my current position as a PhD student!
