As a student at Wesleyan College, I have spent my brief time developing an interest in all things Digital Humanities. From the psychology of social media to the part that computers play in devloping literature, I can become fascinated with any and all aspects of the field. Also, as a future librarian, I invest a lot of time in understanding Information aquisition and the future of books and Libraries.
Full Bio: I spent my first year of school researching and writing about the ways that Old and New Media combine to create digital literary texts that the 21st century reader can enjoy in the form of narratives and poetry that combine human language with computer code. Furthermore, I am an absorbed member of digital communities, such as YouTube, which have the ability to bring people together on a global scale and inform those included about whatever interests they may have. From a psychological and philosophical standpoint, I would love to do more research on how growing up in a digital culture influences the behavior and psyche of this generation that is mostly comfortable with technology and communicating socially through the medium of the Internet. I am also curious as to how the Internet contributes to the creation of an extended human consciousness or artificial intelligence.
