Wolfgang Kaltenbrunner received an Mphil in Comparative Literature from the University of Vienna in 2006. After that he enrolled in the Research Master programme Cultures of Art, Science, and Technology at the University of Maastricht, which he completed in 2009. In October 2009 he started working on his PHD dissertation at Erasmus University Rotterdam. This research originated out of a collaboration with the Virtual Knowledge Studio Amsterdam, in which Wolfgang investigated the digital innovation of a long-standing bibliography for Dutch Literary Studies and Linguistics. His dissertation will compare on a larger scale how the "printing revolution" of the 16th century and the application of digital tools for literary studies today are related to epistemological changes in literary knowledge production and the performance of scholarly identity.
